Background

Our client is an international organization bringing together public and private sectors, all fighting for the same goal: saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing access to immunization. By 2018, our client reached over 700 million treated children since its creation and prevented more than 10 million future deaths in the process. And in order to fulfill their mission, they had to strengthen their growing global presence and to reach the countries they were partnering with.

Challenges

With global expansion underway, telling their story was not easy. They were looking for an agency that could help them with multilingual medical translations and handle large volumes in a short period of time without sacrificing quality. In only 9 months of collaboration, the word count reached 1 million.

Another challenge was the variety of language combinations. As the number of countries partnering with their health programs increased from year to year, so did the number of languages we had to translate into. For example in only one month we were asked to translate 600.000 words from and into English, French, Spanish and Russian.

Alongside this internationally renowned organization, apart from our most common language combinations including English, French, German or Russian, we also had to deal with multilingual medical translations from and into Azerbaijani, Indonesian or Tajik.

Solutions

Each multilingual medical translation project required, therefore, a different approach. We built up dedicated teams of native in-country linguists specialized in our client`s terminology for each and every language combination.

Our Vendor Management team carefully selected and tested every member of the translator`s team. For that, we created tests adapted to our client’s needs to be sure that we selected the most suitable linguists. As their specific terminology is very complex, we also worked on dedicated Term Bases and contributed to their constant update and management.

Prior to delivery, we carried out a thorough review stage, working through checking the translated text, its visuals, and its functionality. In addition, our project managers provided regular email and phone updates on the project’s status, ensuring changes to content that were made within an efficient and timely manner. Our approach allowed us to react quickly to our client’s requests and to succeed their quality standards.
